Agriculture For Society

India is a predominantly agrarian society, although, not enough emphasis is placed on gaining an education in agriculture. More than 50% of the population of India relies on agriculture as a means of livelihood and more than 25% of the GDP of India is based on agriculture. This makes it even more important for agricultural education to be emphasized.

AISECT Jharkhand designs a course curriculum that deals with all the aspects of agriculture including harvesting and husbandry. Other important factors include seed and crop diseases as well. The course has a combination of traditional agricultural practices as well as new developments in agriculture. This makes the university stand out from the rest of the top agriculture colleges in Jharkhand

Keeping all of the students up to date with the latest developments in the field of agriculture is one of the main aims of the university. The course teaches the students the new and old practices of agriculture and also educates them about water resource management, farming practices, and study of soil in order to ensure the students are geared up for a future in agriculture. This is what makes the university comparable to the best agriculture colleges in Jharkhand

B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture is a four-year course with two semesters in each year. To get admission in this course one has to pass the HSC examination. The curriculum covers topics like water resource management, soil management, how environmental and seasonal factors impact crop growth and modern agricultural practices to improve crop production.  The benefit of doing this course is that students get in-depth knowledge through textbooks and hands-on experience of agriculture practices through farm visits and workshops. Even though India is an agriculture-dependent country,  there is a misconception that agriculture can only lead to farming jobs. There are many career opportunities related to agriculture. They can choose to be research analysts in the field of agriculture.

The faculty ensures that each student gets the chance to have the highest quality of education. There is an equal emphasis on theoretical and practical knowledge. After this course, students can opt to go for higher education like M.Sc. or Ph.D. and do research to find out better ways of farming.

This course opens various career options for students like appearing for UPSC examination or opting for Ph.D. / management studies as well as private and public sectors job opportunities.

One of the best parts of a course in agriculture is that this course costs a lot less than any other B.E course.
